Studying Spanish in Peru
The Spanish courses run at the ECEL language school either studying in Lima or Cuzco, are designed to meet your learning goals within a short period of time. The Spanish classes focus on Spanish conversation, grammar, reading, and writing. Students attending the language school can also engage in optional sport activities, city excursions or cultural events.

Spanish courses starting every Monday - First day of classes at 08.00 am in order to take a placement exam and assess your language skills. Students materials are provided as well as certificates at the end of your course.
-Beginner-intermediate minimum of two-week course duration; advanced two or more weeks
The following are the type of classes we are running the whole year around:
Intensive Group (20 hours per week)
Our group classes have a maximum of 7 students to ensure personalized instruction. There are 12 Spanish levels, which are broken down into two-week sessions. They give students the opportunity to cover a multitude of Spanish language components, focusing on conversation and grammar.
Schedule:
- Start dates: every Monday, year round
- Class time sessions are in the morning (9am-1pm) and in the afternoon (2pm-6pm)
Intensive Private (10-20 hours per week)
Some students choose to take private lessons with a professor for more individualized attention. Private classes are also an excellent idea for professionals who seek a specialized vocabulary for specific situations. Individual (one-on-one) courses can begin any Monday.
Super Intensive (group + private 25-30 hours per week)
Those students interested in a more intensive program have the option to take both group (20 hours) and private (5 -10 hours) of classes. You may also take this course of study temporarily if you are having trouble with a certain concept and desire additional assistance.

For those students who want to study in Lima, our language school is located in the district of Miraflores. From this location you can take advantages during the weekend and explore the different neighbourhoods in Lima, visit a various museums and cultural attractions, and enjoy the night-life, beautiful beaches, landscapes, and good food and drink.
For those students who want to study Spanish in Cuzco the language centre is located next to the main central square in town. During your staying in Cuzco you can explore its narrow streets, restaurants, cafés, diverse museums and witness local cultural events. You can also visit the town of Pisaq and its craft market as well as the ruins of Chinchero and Ollantaytambo, examples of Inca urban planning.
Making the best studying at both locations, which means starting studying in Lima and than travel to Cuzco to carry on your studies (or vice-versa). You can access to a 10% discount when you are staying more than 9 weeks between one or both locations.
The schools all have the same curriculum so that you may continue your studies at another school starting from Peru, than Chile and Argentina or arrange to your convenience the countries you would like to visit. It is the best opportunity to enjoy several cities, to learn about different cultures and accents and all within the same program! It is very easy to travel from country to country by bus!!
Benefits of our accommodation arrangements
You can have a room in a student apartment or a home stay with a local upper-middle class family. Of course, it is also possible to arrange your own housing outside this two options (for example volunteering in one of our projects and living in a guest house or simply tell us what arrangements you are looking for to suit your needs)
Shared Apartment:
This option is suitable for anyone who wants to combine the Spanish immersion experience and meeting new friends from overseas. All apartments are fully furnished and equipped to prepare your own meals. Rooms are provided on a shared basis with a person of similar sex gender.
Family Home stay:
This option is suitable for students who want to practice Spanish with local families. All Middle-class families are carefully selected and provide each student with a private room and kitchen access. Most of the students staying at at local families range from 17 years up to seniors. Your family will be very happy to welcome you as one of their members
For all options:- Sheets and towels included.
- Change of sheets and towels once a week.
- Phone calls may be received.
- Minimum stay one week.
Best months to studying in Lima are from September until April time in which the weather shows its best time.

Cost of the course
- All prices are including local taxes
- Prices listed are per 1 week of classes as well as for living arrangements.
- One-time registration fee of $75 US dollars to cover your materials and certificated.
- One class hour = 50 minutes class time.
- Payment methods are made in advance by using bank transfers, and cash
- Discounts of 10% off the price are provided when you stay more than 9 weeks in Lima or Cuzco
Please note the language school will be closed during national Holidays on: 9 and 22 Apr, 28 July, 8 Oct, 24 and 31 Dec and not activities will be taking place during those days.
During the following holidays dates, a conversation club will be organized instead of lessons at the language centre on: 21 Apr, 29 June, 29 July, 30 Aug, 1 Nov, 8 Dec
