The greatest experience of living in a community where we support our projects, is with a local Peruvian family. They look after you as one of it's family members and will help you to practice your Spanish and introduce you their friends.
You will have the chance to savour local dishes and the opportunity to be invited to festivities or family parties and gatherings. Peruvians are generally very welcoming and you will quickly feel part of the family as well as local life.
Upon arrival, we recommend that you rest for at least one day to become accustomed to the local environment. Host families are carefully chosen and monitored through our local contacts and volunteer feedback.
Most families live approximately 15 minutes distance from the projects and in these cases regular public transport (every 5-10 minutes) is available.
The volunteer will have his/her own room and will share the living room, kitchen, bathroom and (if available) courtyard or garden with the family. We prefer to place two volunteers per family so your experience can be shared, however volunteers staying with a family on their own will have more occasion to practice Spanish.
Please note that family accommodation varies from one location to another, for us it is very important you feel welcome and look after meanwhile you are experience your volunteering in Peru.
Our philosophy is to operate our tours in a responsible and sustainable manner that lead us to strength our concept in green tourism. We also believe that by following our responsible travel policies you can gain a more rewarding and interesting experience. We aim to provide an exceptional service to all travellers and volunteers.

It is recommended that you book the treks at least 4 to 3 weeks in advance, unless you already in Peru. In this case we could develop your alternative tour but still it might take few days to get it organised.
