The first part of this project is to engage local communities in the protection of the environment where they live by combining educational and practical work. The second phase of this project is to look for the implementation of renewal energy sources in rural areas of Peru.
How accessible are these projects in terms of locations?
Most of the environmental projects are rural based which means, there is a distant from main town. But villages still have facilties in terms of sanitation, and access to telephone or interntet cabin from where you can contact your relatives or friends.My level of Spanish is very basic would that matter to get involved?
We recommend those volunteers whose level of Spanish is very basic to get lessons to reinforce their language skills either at home before embarking to the final destination or by taking some courses with us in the main town. It is very important for the project leaders to be able to communicate fluenty with you in order to organise some tasks. Also most of the local people do not speak English or other foreign language than Spanish, Quechua or Aimara unless they are working in the tourist market but this is not the case.Would I need to have some previous experience on this field?
You do not need to have relevant experience on recycling but some understading on the concepts of renewal energy is desirable.What advantage do I get from volunteering for Inka Magik?
An advantage of our volunteer projects is that after your first month or weeks, you will financially contributing to your host family at a lower rate set up by us and decide also the time you want to stay in the project. You can pay either weekly or monthly your staying in your host family for your food and accommodation at not extra cost to us. It means You will be helping actively in the promotion of sustainability for the local community.
Can I choose my own accommodation?
We understand that after a days work you want some privacy and we could provide you with a local hostel accommodation to ensure you get the rest you deserve. Most of this type of accommodation provides breakfast, individual meals arrangements can be done in place with the owner. Is that's your case, please let us know in your application form to arrange this type of accommodation at a lower cost for you.

Gold from the Sun - This project aims to develop projects for the installation of renewal energy products in different locations in Peru
An advantage of our volunteer projects is that any extra month you want to stay in Peru is pay directly by you to your host family and helps the promotion of sustainability for the local community.
All Projects includes placement, school inductions, food, accommodation and transfers, support from our Inka Magik contact person as well as our local partners.
These programmes give you the opportunity to learn Spanish with a local family as well as Quechua, the Inka language.
Selva Verde
This volunteering experience is for the adventurous! You will live with a local family and stay in a rustic adobe lodge overlooking the beautiful river valley, only a stones throw from Machu Picchu in the jungle village of Santa Teresa.
In the Selva Verde environmental programme, you will help the local community by clearing the beautiful inka trails behind Machu Picchu of man-made and natural debris, promote recycling and composting. In addition, you will assist in the local school in the mornings with conversational English and involve the children as much as possible in environmental issues. You will stay with the family of a Quechua local community guide and tourist operator who will also give you a special insight into community tourism and alternative inka trails.

Gold from the Sun
Inka Magik aims to promote the benefits of renewable energy projects in disadvantages villages in which electricity is needed for internal community development in Peru.
To develop each project, Inka Magik is inviting groups of local and overseas university students to gather and discuss the most adequate resources of renewable energy for it's installation.
Gold From the Sun projects will focus on Team work, Project Management, Fundraising, Environmental Conservation, Community Development and Language Skills. This project is 100% challenging and rewarding from the started to the end.
Selected candidates will be able to liaise with local university students, authorities, and press. Trek to Machu Picchu is included
