Challenge, learn & share!

This projects gives you the option to take part in one of our our unique
eco-adventure tours.

The KUSI-Health Care programme allows you to volunteer in health centres, hospitals and to work with orphan children, ederly or young people with special needs.

Who is suitable to get involved in KUSI project?

We welcome people from different backgrounds as well as students or trained professionals from the health care or medical field to assist in medical centres and hospitals. Volunteers who do not have experience but are enthusiastic to learn from this environment to get some initial experience and pursue a career in the future, are very welcome! Just send us information about yourself and the area of interest that you want to get involved.

Medical post provide first aid to the local community and can monitor the community during outreach work, so it is feasible for you to start doing volunteer work in this field under the supervision of trained medical staff.

How would I help working with orphan children, ederly or people with special needs?

You can help out with internal social activities provided by the team leader such for example getting involved in the runing of food preparation, educational development, memory games, art work, etc. The list of activities varies accordingly in the area in which you are getting involved and you will be working as a part of team.

I am a medical student, can I practice my knowlege in Peru?

Medical students can provide first aid level, unless it has been previously arranged by the Medical Health Director, you are more likely to overview diagnosis with local trained medical professionals. Local medical staff are insured by the National Health Security system.

It does interest me to get involed in hospitals, is it possible to do this?

At the moment we are promoting the aid for medical post in poorest communities however, we can arrange your placement at regional hospitals, all you have to do is to let us know what area you want to get involved.

Can I work in specific areas such a tropical medicine?

We can help you in processing your application and depending of your experience and understanging of the Spanish language, you can get the most from your placement.

My level of Spanish is very basic would that matter to get involved?

We recommend volunteers interested to work in the medical fiels and whose level of Spanish is very basic to get lessons to reinforce their language skills either at home or by taking some courses with us. It is very important to be able to communicate with the medical team and with the locals as they do not speak foreign languages, unless of course some exceptional circunstances arise in which a medical professional understand your language but you can not be sure it would happen every where you will be working. In addition, most of the medical literature is in Spanish therefore you have to have a good level of understanding of this language. To work in a medical post providing some first aid it not necessary a good level of Spanish as you will supervise most of the times.

Spanish lessons are arrange by us with local teachers and it will help you to become more effective in your volunteering work.

What advantage do I get from volunteering for Inka Magik?

An advantage of our volunteer projects is that after your first month, you will financially contributing to your host family at a lower rate set up by us and decide also the time you want to stay in the project. You can pay either weekly or monthly your staying in your host family for your food and accommodation at not extra cost to us. It means you will be helping actively in the promotion of sustainability for the local community. For additional information, please download the respective Pdfs from each project.

Can I choose my own accommodation?

We understand that after a days work you want some privacy and we could provide you with a local hostel accommodation to ensure you get the rest you deserve. Most of this type of accommodation provides breakfast, individual meals arrangements can be done in place with the owner. Is that's your case, please let us know in your application form to arrange this type of accommodation at a lower cost for you.
